He's bred to stay well but produced a career-best when dropped in trip at Warwick and was just denied in a good run last time. He's capable of winning handicap hurdles from his opening mark of 124 once upped in trip.

He found three miles on soft ground too much of a test last time, especially as he went a bit too quick in front. He was beaten by three well-handicapped horses but the way he jumped and travelled suggests he’s in good form. He'll be of real interest if found to dominate in a smaller field over a shorter trip, ideally on a sounder surface.

He faced a tough task from his position after missing the break from a wide draw last time. He made up a lot of ground in the straight having been forced very wide in a race where the pace held up well. He has more wins in him this winter at Lingfield.

The combination of 3m1f and testing ground seemed too much of a stamina test against some stronger stayers at Catterick, but he shaped like a well-handicapped horse who can take advantage granted a more suitable test. There was enough to suggest he can win races off this sort of mark, especially when the yard hit better form.

He was the real eye-catcher in this race, finishing third on debut after travelling really strongly. He will be winning his maiden before too long.
